Old Spanish Days Fiesta

Santa Barbara has a rich history here on the California coast with its roots in historic Spanish culture. Each year Santa Barbara showcases this incredible history with the long-standing Old Spanish Days Fiesta. This event has been taking place since 1925 and will soon be at its centennial celebration in a few years. Old Spanish Days Fiesta is a five-day party that takes place across different venues in Downtown Santa Barbara. The event kicks off with La Fiesta Pequena, a smaller festival that sets the stage for future festivities, at the Old Mission Santa Barbara. This mini festival is expected to feature folklorico and traditional flamenco dance performances. The remaining days feature a variety of activities including an arts and crafts show, children's parade, delicious food, live dance, and musical performances, and plenty more to choose from. Old Spanish Days Fiesta will take place this year from August 2nd& through the 6th right here in Santa Barbara.

California Wine Festival

Most visitors to Santa Barbara probably know that the region is one of the biggest wine producers for the state of California. Simply head out to Santa Ynez Valley to find some of the top central coast wineries and vineyards. This is a great way to see another side of Santa Barbara and enjoy some tasty wine.

If you do not want to make the trek to Santa Ynez Valley, you can always just stick around Santa Barbara for the annual California Wine Festival. This annual festival is one of the largest outdoor wine festivals and is always a hit. This will be the 20th year of the festival and is sure to bring out all exciting activities. The event kicks off on July 14th for a romantic evening with the Sunset Rare & Reserve Tasting at Chase Palm Park Carousel House. You will be able to taste extremely limited reserve wines that are expertly matched with culinary appetizers from top chefs in the region. It starts with a champagne reception before additional wine and food pairings are provided.

Live music will keep the mood set. Make sure to buy a ticket before they are all sold out. The official wine festival will take place the next day on July 15th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This event brings in thousands of wine lovers to the Chase Palm Park Oceanside for cool breezes along the shore. Hundreds of fine wines will be available to try out along with regional craft beers, olive oil, breads, artisanal cheeses, chocolates, and much more. Live music will also be on hand for this event too. The reserve tasting and outdoor festival are separate tickets so make sure to plan ahead for what activities you want to attend!

Woodies at the Beach

Get ready for a car show like no other when you attend the Woodies at the Beach antique car roadshow. This event brings in the top woodie wagons from across the west to the Santa Barbara City College. The event overlooks the beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches and makes it the perfect spot for a picnic. Explore the antique vehicles on display as you soak up the live music and cool beach breeze. A silent auction will also be available to support local charities in need. Admission into the Woodies by the Beach is absolutely free making it a great family-friendly event!

Farmer and Flea Market

Get ready for a farmers' market like no other with Santa Barbara's own Farm and Flea Market. This market takes place every Saturday of summer when you can explore the wares of local artisans and vendors. Expect to find plenty of local goods such as produce, arts and crafts, jewelry, treats, and much more up for sale. Live music will be on hand as the event runs each week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park.
