Sure, July 4th is fun all across the country, but no celebration is quite like a Santa Barbara Fourth of July. With festivities that range the gamut from music to dancing to good eats, you've got your choice of activities no matter your mood!

Art Show

Over 80 artisans have a spot in this long-running Old Mission Santa Barbara art show. Yep, that includes free parking!

Santa Barbara Fourth of July Parade

Everyone loves a good parade, and the annual Santa Barbara parade can't be beaten. This is the 55th year of this awesome bash in Old Town Santa Barbara, which starts at 1pm on Micheltorena Street and makes its way down State Street to finish at Cota Street. This is hugely patriotic, with over 175 agencies from across the city proudly taking part. Come see what all the fuss is about and feel the thrill of a loud and crowded celebration! This is one of the most popular attractions to see for a Santa Barbara Fourth of July.

Stearns Wharf Merchants Association

Live music and fun are part of an all-day event hosted by the Stearns Wharf Merchants Association that opens at 11am and goes until the city's 9pm fireworks display. Tequila Mockingbird and other bands will be playing for hours on two different stages, and you can dance, shop, or even get your face painted right on the wharf! Partake in great food from local vendors, exciting drinks and cocktails at trendy restaurants, and other entertaining events like wine-tasting and palmistry. In the evening, you'll have a phenomenal view of this 20-minute long choreographed fireworks show.

Sunken Gardens

The annual 4th of July concert taking place at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens is a local fan favorite. Starting at 5pm, you'll hear some traditional American tunes by Scott Joplin, John Philip Sousa, Leonard Bernstein, among others, all performed by the talented Crown City Brass Quintet. It's next to impossible not to tap your foot to these old-school melodies. You'll want to bring the whole family to this event, along with lawn chairs and blankets to relax on at the garden grounds.
